FEMININE HYGIENE PROGRAM
What if not having sanitary supplies meant:
DAYS without school, DAYS without income, DAYS without leaving the house?
Girls use leaves, mattress stuffing, newspaper, corn husks, rocks, anything they can find. They are at risk of infections and exploitation and can miss up to two months of school or work every year.

DAYS FOR GIRLS KITS GIVE:

Days of Dignity, Days of Health, Days of Education, Daysof Safety, Days of Income.
Kits are serving in 123+ countries. 1 million  women and girls have received kits in less that a decade. 1000 + Teams and Chapters with more than 50,000 volunteers are making kits worldwide.
Kits are washable and reusable lasting up to three years.

HOW DOES DAYS FOR GIRLS WORK?

Days for Girls is a grass roots charity that has a network of Teams and Chapters around the world that make and raise funds to provide sanitary kits. We then distribute or partner with other groups and organisations that are going to areas of need. We ask all partners to provide reproductive and hygiene education along with kits at the time of distribution. We also encourage and support training for communities to produce their own kits.

WHAT’S IN A KIT?

Two moisture barrier shields        Eight trifold liners            One hotel size soap         One pair of underpants         One washcloth         Two large ziplock bags
Pictorial instruction sheet              All in a drawstring bag for privacy

WHY DON’T WOMEN AND GIRLS JUST USE DISPOSABLE PRODUCTS?

Lack of funds is the main reason. What if you had to choose between feeding your family and sanitary supplies? Often there is no garbage disposal service. Improperly discarded pads are a health risk and add to the stigma of menstruation. Availability and quality of disposable products is problematic in many communities.

OUR MISSION

Creating a more dignified, free and educated world through access to lasting feminine hygiene solutions.

OUR VISION

Every woman and girl in the world with readily accessible access to quality sustainable hygiene and health education by the year 2022.

OUR PLAN

To provide sustainable feminine hygiene to women and girls who would otherwise go without.
We accomplish this by direct distribution and partnering with other groups, raising awareness and supporting local in-country kit production which generates income, helping communities meet their needs sustainably.
