Every Girl . Everywhere . Period

Sewing, packing kits, coffee, cake, sorting underwear  and lots of  laughter makes for a great DfG workshop.

It was great to have Joanne back after her knee operation, she was the lucky winner of our raffle this week.

Kate is busy making us a memory quilt. We will raffle this next year,  these funds will be used to purchase fabric and other items we need to complete a DfG Kit.

Underwear, Double Zip Lock Bags, and Washers are always needed to keep our production ongoing.

There were 50 kits packed today. We will have 600 kits  completed by our first anniversary, what a wonderful achievement.

Thank you Shirley and Helen for arranging the presentation at the Women's Network last week.

There are lots of wonderful things happening in the coming weeks:

Presentation on Tuesday 6th November for the DoTerra ladies

Save the Date - Tuesday 13th November 2018 - We will celebrate our 1st Anniversary with our affiliated Rotary Club of Walkerston.
We have 20 members and partners coming at this stage.
Please let me know if you would like to attend or need transport.

Save the Date - 24th November Christmas Party and Lorraine Lee Linen Party

Spreading the word, letting people know who we are and what we do, is very important.

Warm Regards,
 Dianne Catto

A kit should last for 3 years.
We give a day - 8 hours - to make one kit
for a woman, in a developing country, to have
one week every month - adding up to 84 days, or 2016 hours - a year of -
Life Changing Dignity.

Recently I read "Love and Compassion are necessities, not luxuries. Without them humanity cannot survive."
Days for Girls Mackay volunteers are a real example of this Love and Compassion for women in developing countries.

We had 18 volunteers today and $80 was raised from the raffle which Cathy donated and was won by Shell, who shared it with Janine.
We had a new Volunteer Helen join us last week and it was great to see her again today.

Days for Girls has wonderful networking.
During the past few weeks we have had approximately 150 kits from Lismore that we have assisted with getting to Townsville. Thank you to Alison and Andrew - also Terry, Debbie and Desley Daley for assisting with this process.

As I mentioned in our last newsletter, we have another 50 kits to go to the Solomon Islands... to the Helena Goldie hospital in Munda  - Thank you to Peter Johnson.
We also have 50 kits going to Pokhara in Nepal with Nursing and Midwifery students from Central Queensland University.

Date Claimer: 1st Anniversary Celebration Dinner with our affiliate partner the Rotary Club of Walkerston on the 13th November, 7pm - stay tuned for more details.
