Every Girl . Everywhere . Period

Walkerston Rotary's Community Award Presentation

Days for Girls Mackay is lucky enough to have a large number of dedicated volunteers. It seems that these days, that is quite an achievement!
These people turn up every Saturday to cut, sew, pack to do whatever is needed to get the Days for Girls kits ready to be shipped off to wherever... to Cambodia – as we’ve just seen – to Nepal, the Solomon Islands, or indeed…Vanuatu!
There is a lot of camaraderie and good will spread within this group of volunteers. Among them are some ‘quiet achievers’…
Tonight, we are here to celebrate one of those quiet achievers.
I think, if it wasn’t for this person, the many things our Days for Girls – Mackay team has achieved, it may not have?
This lovely lady was right in there – from the beginning in November 2017. She works tirelessly not only before, but also at the Saturday workshops, setting up so everything is ready to roll, and then also many hours at home.
She is THE expert regarding cutting, sewing, fabric…just anything to do with production and quality of any of the contents of a DfG kit!
In short – she is the Team’s 'Go To' person!
It is our very humble, very quiet, very dedicated, very loved and respected - Cathy…
