Every Girl . Everywhere . Period
The story and photos below are 'pinched' from the Bridging Health Inc, North Rockhampton Days for Girls and Rockhampton Fitzroy Rotary's facebook pages.
Days for Girls Mackay Team member, and also part of Bridging Health - Pam Viti
Last night (Saturday 10th August), Rotarians from our club (Rotary club of Rockhampton Fitzroy) - Ian & Bernadette Cross, Beth
& Shaun O’Brien & Terry & Debbie Daley attended the Bridging Health
Annual Dinner at Bauhina House.
Bernadette & Debbie were happy to collect
the Transport Packs that the Bridging Health Team have been sewing to complete
the Days for Girls Kits going to Tanna Island in Vanuatu this September.
Vanuatu has progressed the country’s drive to become plastic free so the kits
cannot include the double zipped plastic bags that are part of the usual
kits.
The room looked beautiful on entering, with music being played by a few
of the Bridging Health supporters.
Ricco & Michelle Yasso worked the room
of about 200 guests meeting everyone there & thanking them for attending.
The Bridging Health Community catered the evening on tables laden with a
delicious array of food.
The Tanna Island Chief Jeffery & his partner were
in attendance & he spoke passionately about the work that Bridging Health carries out on
their trips to Tanna. Past members of Bridging Health Teams gave heart felt
accounts of their trips to help their countrymen & women by providing much
needed supplies & medical advice & assistance. Joanne Warkill also gave
a report on the activities that Bridging Health carries out.
Both the Rockhampton North & Mackay - Days for Girls Teams are working on
providing as many kits as they can prior to the shipping container being sealed
up in September for the trip to Tanna.
Both teams were sincerely thanked for
the work in providing fully washable sanitary menstrual kits to girls on the
island.
Thank you for the fantastic
hospitality.
